On July 18th, 2020 there’s a “Safe House Handbook Launch” talk show that will take place at C space by Song Foundation.
With the desire to support people in areas which are suffering from natural disasters to settle down and create better living conditions, Song foundation has been and will nonstop research, support the poor households in harsh places with little nature’s favor.
Since 2013, from the rocky valley Tan Hoa, Quang Binh province – which is famous for the flooding levels “beyond the electric poles,” the – Resilient Housing program has designed and successfully completed nine house models to cope with different types of floods. Since then, the Resilient Housing program has provided technical and financial support for to more than 700 households in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Soc Trang, and Hau Giang.
The more serious natural disasters and extreme weather events are getting, the more households need to be guided and provided technical assistance to build safe houses against the harsh natural conditions. Therefore, the Resilient Housing program decides to share our accumulated experiences through the “Safe House Handbook”.
The “Safe House Handbook” includes details of house models adapting to typical natural disasters and floods in Vietnam, based on thorough studies in many execution areas that we have carried out in the period of 2013-2019. The team hopes that this Handbook can be useful to apply & able to adapt.
We’re looking forward to Architects, professionals, sponsors, and others interested in this topic, joining and discussing with our event.
